He started studying TCM ( Traditional Chinese Medicine ) at Shandong College of TCM in 1972 and continued &graduated from Shandong University of TCM with Master degree in 1982; later obtained MD in alternative medicine&professorship in TCM ,and consultant title of TCM granted by WFCMS in 2013.

Acted as lecturer & director of the advanced studies dept of Shandong TCM University , he also  practiced at  the affiliated hospital & published  many books, such as ‘A Practical English-Chinese Library of TCM’ -14 books ,the first of its kind in the world.In 1991 he was awarded by Chinese Council for  ‘ outstanding achievement ‘ in TCM.

Currently he is member of ATCM; senior member of Royal Society of Medicine; headteacher of UK Academy of Chinese Medicine running courses of  acupuncture, herb&massage; practicing  at King’s Cross & Herbal Centre UACM ( 255 Gray’s Inn Road, London WC1X 8QT) to help patients with sinusitis, Meniere’s disease, acne, eczema, gastritis, peptic ulcer, IBS, headache, cough, asthma, chest pain , irregular periods, infertility, etc.  For more details, call on 020 3509 9050; E-mail: prof.engincan@hotmail.co.uk ;Websites: uacm.uk
